🍾 Glass bottles – 3.4%
🥫 Drinks cans – 3.2%

I’ve got a quick minute here so I’ll go ahead and post something about this. According to Statistics.com what you see above is the percentages of waste in our oceans.

You might look over the list for just a moment and then resume reading.

I was thinking about pollution one day when looking over a list such as this one and something occured to Me: We don’t carry bags anymore like we used to.

Sure we carry briefcases and purses but that’s not what I mean. I allege that for thousands of years mankind must have walked around with some kind of bag or sling over his shoulder for his foodstuffs or weapons. That and a companion like a bird or a dog, I suppose.

And that had to be in order to go anywhere unless you were going to look for another apple tree or cut of steak when you got to wherever you  were going. And this must have been the case for aeons, I think.

If that’s true, then it’s probably relevant. I don’t advocate being a byproduct of the past or your ancestors! Blech! I see far too many people of all stripes and religions doing what their ancestors did! Your ancestors were a genuine byproduct of their environment! They would be shocked to see you today mumbling the same words or holding their old rituals in such esteem! They would want to know what today’s environment makes out of a person. What do you become? Surely not me.

What I mean is that there are some clues as to what is “natural” for us as human beings when looking at calibrating ourselves for the most efficiency. Calibrated by science or the environment is an issue that was brought up in another article. I’ll repost it some time. Short answer: environment unless your designing software or race cars.

So with one foot in the past and one foot in the future we try to take the best forward with us. That means carrying the items that you see on that list in your satchel. Duh. Utensils, plastic bags, bottles, food containers, etc. can all be carried in a sling.

Today hipsters want to p;ay for things with just a face-scan. Hip, yes. Practical, no. That means everything he uses has to be disposable as the guy is traveling with just a pair of Van’s and Ralph Loren shorts and t-shirt. That and a pricey BMW in the lot.

If I ran the world, it would work much like today’s does in that it would have a lot of interlocking pieces. But the thrust would be different. Instead of seeing genocide paraphernalia everywhere you see subconscious messages to recycle or to bring your duffel. Maybe to remember your utensils because fast food restaurants charge extra if you want the plastic ones.

These adjustments are easy. And who knows how today’s nomenclature effects us subconsciously? Do we think, Well we’ll just have to kill more people if we want that SUV? Or do we think, Well we’ll just have to get more people recycling before we can get that SUV?

I allege that creating New Books, Teachers and Instutions will open up possibilities and productivity that the current ones stand in the way of.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Expect miracles at Sovrumano!
